Annotation:

Gleb Ivanovich Uspensky is a Russian writer close to the narodnik movement, a realist novelist, and a publicist. A major figure of Russian realism of the XIX century, one of the leading writers of the Raznochinets. Gleb Ivanovich Uspensky began his literary activity in the summer of 1862 in L. N. Tolstoy's pedagogical magazine Yasnaya Polyana under the pseudonym G. Bryzgin. The first work was the story "Mikhalych". Ouspensky's essays on the countryside played a significant role in the destruction of dogmatic populism and reflected the economic relations between peasants and their new worldview that had developed by the end of the 19th century. For these works, Ouspensky was appreciated by new Narodniks and Marxists, including V. I. Lenin. The main theme of Gleb Ouspensky's works is the truthful depiction of the village, about the decomposition of the peasant community, and the growth of the Kulaks. This book, which consists of four parts, presents an essay about the life of G.Ouspensky and his selected works.
