Annotation:

The book is a valuable contribution to the educational literature on the equations of mathematical physics. Starting with an analysis of the simplest tasks and methods, the author gives in the last chapters an outline of the most important new methods of Voltaire and Hadamard. The introductory chapter contains the derivation of the most important equations of mathematical physics. In the following chapters, arranged in the order dictated by the mathematical content of the problems, the author does not lose sight of the connection of the mathematical formulation with the physical and mechanical content of the problem. The book can serve as a guide for undergraduate students of mathematical, mechanical, and physical departments of universities and novice graduate students, as well as a textbook for teachers.
