This book is intended for graduate students, students of mathematics and researchers in mechanics and physics. The mathematician will find in it, first of all, the theory of integrals such as the Stiltjes integral, both in their simplest concept of integrals of functions of one real variable, and in modern generalizations of this concept. The author sought to clarify more clearly the basic principles on which the definitions are based, and chose only integrals defined from the broadest point of view. The author placed the Stiltjes integral in a special position, paying special attention to it and its applications. To enable mechanics and physicists to easily familiarize themselves with modern general concepts of the integral, the author introduced the necessary information from set theory and the theory of functions of a real variable into the very text of the book.
