The book describes the period of "Revolution and National Wars" between 1848 and 1870. In the book we find special chapters devoted to the history of such countries: Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Spain, the Romance countries of South and Central America, Hindustan, Persia, Afghanistan, Turkey, China, Japan, Korea, dominions and the most significant colonies of European countries, such as Australia, Canada, India, South Africa, Egypt, Indo-China, Algeria, etc. The history of all these countries is presented briefly, but accurately and very informative. The book gives the reader a lively, coherent, literarily executed exposition of the entire vast mass of the most complex political events of the nineteenth century in all European countries, but also a very informative, for all its brevity, characteristic of such phenomena of world culture as literature, music, painting, sculpture, architecture, and the development of scientific knowledge. The book presents appendices: chronological tables, nominal and material indicators about Important Persons and events, bibliography. And also in the book there is a map of "Europe in 1971".
