The book describes the history of the late XIX century, that is, between 1870 and 1900. In the book we find special chapters devoted to the history of such countries: Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Spain, the Romance countries of South and Central America, Hindustan, Persia, Afghanistan, Turkey, China, Japan, Korea, dominions and the most significant colonies of European countries, such as Australia, Canada, India, South Africa, Egypt, Indo-China, Algeria, etc. The history of all these countries is presented briefly, but accurately and very informative. The book gives the reader a lively, coherent, literarily executed exposition of the entire vast mass of the most complex political events of the nineteenth century in all European countries, but also a very informative, for all its brevity, characteristic of such phenomena of world culture as literature, music, painting, sculpture, architecture, and the development of scientific knowledge. The book presents appendices: chronological tables, nominal and material indicators about Important Persons and events, bibliography. Also in the book there are maps "The partition of Africa colonial possessions and spheres of influence in the early ХХ century", "Asia in the early ХХ century" and a map of "North and South America by the end of the ХІХ century".
