Makhambet Utemisov is a famous Kazakh performer, kuishi, one of the organizers of the anti-colonial uprising of 1836-1838 led by Isatay Taimanov, an ardent storyteller of this uprising. Makhambet's works are a spiritual and poetic chronicle of the life of the masses, an authentic image of the economic movement. He enriched the artistic world of executive poetry, raised national liberation ideas in his works, and sought to preserve the nationality. Makhambet's lyrical poems are written mainly on the model of epic tales, epic, recitative. The book presents the biography of Makhambet Utemisov and his poems.
