Annotation:

The collection includes articles and reports on the archeology and ethnography of Kazakhstan, written on the basis of the latest materials and scientific research. The collection consists of two parts. The first describes new Paleolithic sites of Southern and Eastern Kazakhstan, some Bronze Age monuments of Central Kazakhstan and Semirechye, as well as types of ancient burials of the Alma-Ata region, rock carvings of the Northern Balkhash region. In addition, the analysis of the coin-shaped calendar found during the excavations of the Baba-Ata settlement is given. The second part is devoted to some issues of the history of culture and life of the Kazakhs of the XIX - early XX century . It examines the results of the South Kazakhstan ethnographic expedition of 1958, the issues of the settlement of the Kazakhs of Semirechensk and some counties of the Syr-Darya regions, the blacksmithing and jewelry craft of the Kazakhs, as well as the anthropological composition of the Turkic peoples. The book is intended for researchers, teachers, postgraduates, students, as well as anyone interested in archeology and ethnography of Kazakhstan.
