Annotation:

The task of the book is to develop methods of operational calculus for a number of problems about vibrations of mechanical systems with a finite and infinitely large number of degrees of freedom, as well as applications of these methods to certain problems about the unsteady motion of a viscous liquid. The basic rules and methods of operational calculus are set out at the beginning of the book as briefly as possible; the necessary additions are given in the following text as needed. The author aims to show the methods of operational calculus in their operation, while the task of rigorous mathematical justification of these methods is relegated to the background. The presentation is based on the works of Carlson, Bromwich, Van der Pol, Koizumi and other researchers, as well as on some of the results obtained by the author.
