Annotation:
The author deliberately dwelt on the second part of the book in more detail, since, on the one hand, these concepts are of fundamental importance in analysis in general; on the other hand, mastering the basic concepts and methods of a mathematical discipline is no less important than mastering its formulation. At the beginning of Part II, variational problems are considered as limit problems for the extremum of functions of a finite number of variables. First, individual particular variational problems are solved, then a transition is made to solving the general problem. The book also contains additions and provides examples of extreme problems solved by special methods: several extreme problems for convex shapes and problems arising in the theory of analytical functions.
