Ouida is a pseudonym, Maria Louise Rame is an English writer, romantic. During her career, she has written more than forty adventurous and sentimental novels from high society in England and Italy, as well as many children's books, collections of short stories and essays. "Two Little Wooden Shoes" — the novel is about a sixteen-year-old girl, Baby, who falls in love with a bourgeois artist from Paris. Although he is flattered by her infatuation, he does not seduce her and simply returns to France after she returns, as his model is ready. Besotted, she eventually follows him to Paris, where her illusions will be shattered.
